SHEILA WHITSON

For as long as she can remember, Sheila Whitson has loved interior design, the arts, humor, and humble people. She and her husband, Charles, have lived and raised their family in Lake Charles for the past 25 years.  Spending time with family, friends, and working with clients are what she enjoys most. She considers it a privilege to get to know clients and to create the perfect environment for them.  After graduating with a bachelor’s degree and assisting other designers, Sheila started her own design firm in 2003, Sheila Whitson Interior Design, LLC.  She holds an NCIDQ certification as well as a license to practice commercial design in Louisiana. Design specialties include kitchens and baths, universal design, accessible design, as well as aging in place.

Sheila designs from concept to curation in a range of styles for each client while carefully considering their personality, lifestyle, and needs. She believes that luxury should be authentic, comfortable and inviting. Projects range from luxury homes and a penthouse, hunting and fishing camps and a dental reception area, to a bridal venue suite with reception / meeting rooms. Her work has been featured in Louisiana Life twice, and the American Society of Interior Designers has awarded her for Excellence in Design eight times.  Her most humbling award was the Ovation Award for Overall Excellence in Design.  The competition included projects from Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas and represents the highest honor for a large residential project for that year.
